JAN EDWARDS
Surrounded by love and comfort, Jan Edwards departed this life at 6:55 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, at Carle Foundation Hospital.
She has left behind her loving and adoring husband, Kevin; mother, Janet Clough of Lakeland, Fla.; stepmother, June Sollars of Hope, Ill.; and her in-laws, Harold and Norma Edwards of Danville. Also surviving are her children, Jason and Tabby Starns, Seyward and Wayne Loschen; her five grandchildren, MaCaulen, Tanner, Layten, Alyson and Thomas. Her father, Donald E. Sollars, preceded her in death.
Jan was a loving wife, caring daughter, adoring mother and doting grandmother. She was born in Danville, the daughter of Janet Clough and Donald E. Sollars. She was raised in Potomac, Ill., and graduated from Potomac High School in 1972. She then moved to the Danville area and married Kevin Edwards in February 1987.
After 21 years of marriage, Jan and Kevin’s adoration and devotion could always be seen and felt by all. She remained forever young by participating in numerous softball and bowling leagues. By joining these leagues, she cultivated more friends and love than any could have imagined. Her passion for life was contagious and she touched many people with her generosity and open heart. The family has greatly appreciated all the love and prayers extended to Jan and the family during this trying time.
A celebration of the life of Jan Edwards is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville, with internment to follow at Walnut Corner Cemetery. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Jerry Burt and Mr. Harold Edwards to conduct the eulogy. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at the funeral home.
The Edwards family asks that memorials be made to the family. E-mail condolences may be made to the family at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
